is my baby sleeping to much?

My baby is 8 months old now and I'm worried that she is sleeping too much. I'm probably being paranoid as this is my first baby. How much should an eight month old baby sleep??
She sleeps all night from nine till eight and will sleep four hours in the day time...she seems to sleep more than she is awake.
I ralise that a lot of mums will be calling me lucky but I'm actually worried about it.

Its very common for mums to think that their baby sleeps to much apparently. The average is about 13 to 14 hours per day but to be honest all babies are completely different and some might sleep less and some might sleep more. It just really depends on the baby. The average length of a nap is 1 hour but can be as little as 20 minutes. If your baby seems fine when she is awake and wakes up fine then your probably ok.
